Hey, guys! So, now that Rare Creature, or Trap, is Rare, how about give 'em Rare Loot? When killed, Rare Creature has 0.5% chance to drop 1 Bling or Named Epic Item. Not to mention that Named Epic Items will be new and exclusive to each Rare Creature or Trap! For example, Devlin can drop Molten Core, which is reskinned morningstar for Knight, Brimstone Ballista for Archer, Volcano Eruptor aka fire staff for Mage, or Red Hot Redemption, a greataxe for Runaway, while Hot Roller may drop some ring.

Unique items would be a lot of work and maybe a long term goal, but I think a simple increase to the drop rates of stuff from weekly elites would be good.
Blings dropping probably won't happen since that could turn into a farm situation.
(With bling mines they have the 'broken until defender fixes' limiting factor, creatures would not have that.)

Considering there is already "Named legendaries" that drop from specific elite minions or specific bosses.

I don't think it's to much of a stretch to make "Named Epics" as a drop possibility from rare minions.
