Uh, no, I bought the high roller package because of the advantages you gained from it! Ya, I know that it was going to help the game get on its feet but my payment for the high roller pack was NOT a donation; I am not a charity.
I know it's easy to just blow it off when you didn't actually get a pack, but it is extremely frustrating for anyone who actually bought the high roller package, told it was an exclusive package to get tons of neat stuff. I really liked the exclusive high roller pin and now they are just handing out these gamestop packs that have MORE in-game benefits for HALF THE PRICE.
Imagine that you were helping to fund a company. They said that if you donated 1000 dollars to their company that you would be given a special membership that had special advantages within their company once it got started, and that those advantages were unique to those who donated 1000 dollars. Then imagine that 3 months later they were asking people to donate 500 dollars and that anyone who did would gain the same advantages as the 1000 dollar payers plus additional advantages.
Would you be ticked off? Yes, of course you would.
I get your frustration with the fact that UBI is offering it at gamestop at almost half price. But, there is two sides to that coin. They need the game public and they needs funds. They need it brought to a wider public eye. They have MightyQuest on steam but that is not enough so they need to reach out to a bigger crowd. BUT, I understand most PC, XBOX, and PS4 games are 50-60 bucks but that does not give UBI the right to rip off the high rollers who purchases the package online. You cannot let the people who researched the game online, read reviews and watched videos and then threw 100 bucks at you to turn around and sell it at a retail store for 50 bucks several months later. Not to mention the package at gamestop has MORE boosts then the package online. So they are essentially giving the Gamestop package MORE for less. Unacceptable. Great sell it at gamestop, I know you cant sell a 100$ beta pc game at gamestop but again that give UBI no right to do that. Refund 50$ to the people who bought it online. They where the ones who hunted this game down for a reason. Not wondered into some store and just happen to pick it up. The ones who hunted this game down for a reason deserve more. Kind of a low blow.
